Do I need a visa to join a trip with Aurient Travel?
If you’re an Australian citizen, the great news is you currently don’t need a visa to travel to China under the latest Chinese Government policy. We’ll keep an eye on any updates, but it’s still your responsibility to make sure you meet the visa requirements before booking. Please note, as per our Terms & Conditions, we can’t offer refunds if your booking is cancelled due to visa ineligibility.
Will Aurient Travel arrange my flights?
Our package tours don’t include international flights — this gives you the flexibility to choose flights that suit your schedule and departure city. Just check the itinerary for where the tour begins and ends, and book your flights accordingly.
Can I book as a group, and is there a discount?
Absolutely! We love hosting groups, and you can save up to 18% when booking together as a small group.
Can I change my travel dates?
Yes — you can request a change up to 60 days before your original departure date. We’ll do our best to make it happen, but new dates are subject to availability, so the earlier you get in touch, the better!
If there are fewer than 60 days to go, changes such as switching your departure date or destination may incur cancellation fees. All changes depend on availability and unfortunately can’t be guaranteed. Refer to Cancellation & Refund Policy in Terms and Conditions.
Can I cancel my booking and get a refund?
Cancellation fees are based on timing (card surcharges not refundable):
- 60+ days before departure: Fully refundable
- 45-59 days: 15% of total payment
- 15-44 days: 30% of total payment
- 7-14 days: 75% of total payment
- 0-6 days: 100% of total payment (no refund)

Can you create a customised trip for me?
Right now, we don’t offer fully customised trips for individual travellers. But if you’re travelling as a group of five or more, let us know what you have in mind — we’d be happy to create a tailored itinerary and quote just for you.
I’m travelling solo — can I still join, and can I have my own hotel room?
Absolutely! Many of our guests travel solo, and it’s a great way to meet new friends along the way. If you prefer your own space, you can choose the single supplement option when booking. This ensures you’ll have a private room for the trip, without sharing with other travellers.
Can I bring my kids, and is there a lower price for them?
Yes, children are more than welcome! We offer special pricing for kids aged 11 and under — simply select the children’s rate when booking. Please note that this rate assumes they’ll be sharing a bed with you. If you’d like them to have their own bed, you can add the single supplement option. Children aged 12 and above are charged at the standard adult rate.
What if I miss part of the tour or leave early?
Unfortunately, no refunds are available for unused services due to early departure, late arrival, or missed tour days. This includes hotels, transport, meals, and entrance fees.
